1. What is SEO?

SEO Stands for Search Engine Optimization. Which means we are optimising our content for search engines. Before diving deep into SEO things, we should understand how does the Internet Search Engine Works?

Internet Search Engine continuously strive to collect all the available data over the internet, but in a small useful format. What is the purpose to restore the data which is already available over the internet? So, Search engine looks out for the words available in the content, which are called "Keyword" and store the position, location url etc into their database so that if any person queries that particular keyword, it quickly retrieves from database and present it to the user as their query output, like below screenshot.

For creating the database, search engines have their own "Crawlers". Crawlers are that piece of software which crawls over the internet websites and collects information for the search engines. These crawlers are designed to go through the content's particular structure to look out the important (Frequently queried terms) words. This makes sure that search engines have the latest, relevant data only.

2. Why do we need Search Engine Optimization?

Every content creator wants to get more user/viewer from the internet community. Though you are creating great content, or you have great product, but no one is aware of it, then you won't get enough readers or buyers for the product. So, in order to get more reader for your web content, may it be a blog post, video or a product, if you haven't registered it's presence to the search engines, search engines won't come to know about it. 

Hence people who are looking for product or content through searches, which you already have will go un-noticed. You won't be able to get the intended users easily.

So, to make our content "Crawler Friendly" we need SEO. That means, we are making our content easily discovereable for the search engines. There are certain algorithms through which search engine works. Search engine create their own algorithms, so that users always have the relevant data in the top output for the user queries. To sort the millions of the results crawlers get for the query, Search engines design algorithm considering N number of factors. Those factors I will explain in my upcoming posts.

Also as per new technology advancements, new way to tweak searches, search engines have to keep their algorithm changing. 

The main goal, all search engines work is to present relevant content to the users for their queries. Thus, it is very much important to keep their algorithm refined. And, hence, if any of your trick that worked for search engines earlier, might not work now, because of algorithm updates.
